My 2008 prediction: the Touch Screen year
I think that 2008 will be the year of touch screen and multi touch screen. We already have a lot of example of what we can do in 2007 but 2008 will be THE year.
So I will give you a list of examples to see what 2008 will look like.
In 2007, the Microsoft Surface was elected “Invention of the Year” by the Popular Mechanics Website (without hitting the market) and the Time elected the Iphone “Invention of the Year”. Both are different because of their Touch Screen application.

Concerning the store, interactive screen will hit the storefront like in Tommy Hilfiger stores or Ralph Lauren stores. We will be able soon to buy some clothes even if the store is closed just by touching the interactive storefront.
Microsoft surface is not alone in this market, in France Intuilab launched the 3rd of december IntuiFace the first “multitouch” interactive surface: a large screen on which one or more users can interact simultaneously with their fingers. IntuiFace combines both a large display area for effective visual rendering, and opportunities for rich and natural interaction exploiting the fingers of both hands. Users can then better explore and analyze the information presented, while dialoguing and cooperating.

The CityWall is a large mutli-touch display installed in a central location in Helsinki which acts as a collaborative and playful interface for the everchanging media landscape of the city.
