Wii Fit pre-orders sell out in a day
Poised to become the fastest selling Wii game ever, “Wii Fit” by Nintendo has outstripped all previous records on Play.com by selling out its entire allocation in one day.
Launching in the UK on 25 April, Play.com says it has been “overwhelmed” by demand for the new fitness game.
Debuting in Japan 4 months ago, the exergame sold more than one million copies in the first month in a nation with around five million Wiis in use
Orange to launch calorie counting text service
Orange has announced that it will launch a new text service in the UK that will allow you to monitor calories in the food you eat on the go.
Launching later in the year, the new service, called e-diet, will let Orange customers text in what they are about to eat to get the calorie count making sure they stay on track
Sneakers vending machine
Japanese trainer and sports fashion brand Onitsuka Tiger has launched what it claims to be the UK’s first trainer vending machine.
The machine can vend 24 pairs of trainers in six sizes and has been placed at Carnaby Street in London, but there are apparently plans to roll out the concept across the UK.
According to the company, it took its inspiration from Japanese vending machines, which famously carry goods Western shoppers would not expect to see sold in that way.
